Dear Future Colleague

Would you like the opportunity to lead a highly motivated team, be part of the Community Hospital leadership team, supporting your colleagues to provide the best possible care for our patients? If you have a passion for caring for frail elderly patients, thrive on providing patient centred care and simply want to make a difference to patients and your colleagues, then this position could be for you. I am proud to say I am the Matron of the Princess of Wales Hospital where old fashioned values and modern day care combine to meet the challenges this complex group of patients bring.

We are looking for a strong transformational leader who is able to engage with all stakeholders, continually learn, strive for excellence and empower our staff to be the best they can be. Bringing with you the years of experience you have in looking after your patients, to be able to lead by example and help your team to develop: with students supporting the nurses of the future by imparting your knowledge and practical skills so they qualify as rounded individuals who have core moral values, strong practical ability and are able to be resilient to the rigours of working in the NHS

If you want to progress your own career whether it be at master’s degree level or any alternative higher education you will have the opportunity to do so. Career progression and succession planning is something I actively encourage. We want to continually adapt/improve the leadership team within the hospital so we can build a resilient motivated workforce which can meet the demands of the NHS and provide quality care to the local population.

More importantly I want the hospital to be a place people like to come to with a positive culture meaning it remains a place our local population is proud to call “their hospital”.
