Commercial Manager Full Time, 6 Months Fixed Term. Remote with minimal travel Salary: Up to £75,000 dependent on experience

Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to provide leadership and management in the bidding environment, supporting the UK & Europe Division in its pursuit of new business opportunities.

You will provide assurance that bids and new business will deliver profitable and sustainable business with an acceptable proportionate risk profile, whilst ensuring that commercial leadership and financial modelling best practice is applied to bids and post-contract management in accordance with commercial policy.

This role reports directly to the Head of Commercial - Bidding and New Business.

As part of this youll:

• Play a key role in developing commercial propositions which are attractive in financial terms to Sercos customers • Analyse information provided by customers in the form of draft contracts and associated documentation to ensure that there is no scope for any difference of interpretation in pricing, payment and performance mechanisms • Act as the commercial lead for selected large bids • Maintain expertise in financial reporting requirements, relevant legislation, and public procurement policy • Educate and train other members of the commercial team • Ensure financial modelling is performed in accordance with applicable GSOPs and that cost capture and risk identification is comprehensive

What youll need to do the role:

• It is essential that you are a qualified Accountant • Demonstrable track record of successful involvement in bidding and winning profitable and sustainable business in the public sector outsourcing market • Experience in role(s) focused on competitive tendering for public sector contracts and enabling successful commercial outcomes • Good knowledge of the various procurement mechanisms available to Government to take an opportunity to market • Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills • Ability to build lasting relationships with all stakeholders • Flexibility to travel • Security Clearance may be required at SC level
