Who You Are
You are an organized and proactive professional with well-developed management and supervisory skills. You have a strong attention to detail, and a high level of written communication skills, particularly in minute-taking. With at least 5 years of board management or similar experience, you are proficient in supporting boards or committees in making high-level decisions in adherence with governance structures. You possess a graduate standard of numeracy, literacy, and research skills, and communicate effectively and confidently with senior board members. You maintain confidentiality with discretion and exhibit a professional attitude, with a flexible approach to work. It is desirable that you have experience in public sector or public/private sector partnership board management.
What the Job Involves
This role entails organizing and undertaking a robust and comprehensive secretariat service for the West Sussex Economic Growth Board, ensuring efficient administration of board activities consistent with the Board's Assurance Framework. You will organize agendas, coordinate and distribute papers, manage governance arrangements, and attend board meetings to prepare precise minutes. You will develop action plans to ensure implementation by responsible parties and collaborate with the Chair and Director of Place Services on annual board planning. Additionally, you will ensure accurate storage of official records, publish finalised board papers, and organize sub-group meetings as needed. Providing support for board member interviews and organizing the Annual Economic Summit are also part of the duties. The role is part-time, requiring a minimum commitment of 2 days per week, with a hybrid working arrangement from Chichester that involves both remote and in-office days. The role will require travel to board meetings and managing booking venues. The pay rate for this position is £14.17/hr (Grade 7).
