As a qualified and experienced Social Worker, you possess a social work degree or equivalent, being registered with SWECC. With at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in statutory Children's Social Care services, you demonstrate excellent organizational skills, adept at managing complex caseloads and producing high-quality work within set timescales. Your expertise in child protection legislation and assessment frameworks allows you to make informed, child-centered judgments. Your direct work skills reflect an effective communication ability with children and young people. Committed to professional development, you uphold professional and ethical standards, adhering to the HCPC Code/Standards of Conduct for Social Workers. What the Job Involves

In this role with Sefton Council's People Directorate, you will contribute to the operational delivery of Children's Social Care services. Your main responsibilities include managing diverse caseloads with supervision, making evidence-based complex decisions, and engaging in legislative work like court hearings and Achieving Best Evidence interviews. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining up-to-date assessments and care plans, delivering protective or supportive services for at-risk children. Collaboration is key, as you will work with multidisciplinary teams, chair forums, and engage with colleagues across agencies to resolve practice issues and promote inclusive practices. The role requires fostering development through team meetings, overseeing social work students, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. Sefton Council facilitates flexible working options, such as work-from-home policies, and supports employee growth with training and supervision. The position offers six-month contracts with pay based on experience and references.
