What the Job Involves
In this role with Sefton Council's People Directorate, you will contribute to the operational delivery of Children's Social Care services. Your main responsibilities include managing diverse caseloads with supervision, making evidence-based complex decisions, and engaging in legislative work like court hearings and Achieving Best Evidence interviews. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining up-to-date assessments and care plans, delivering protective or supportive services for at-risk children. Collaboration is key, as you will work with multidisciplinary teams, chair forums, and engage with colleagues across agencies to resolve practice issues and promote inclusive practices. The role requires fostering development through team meetings, overseeing social work students, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. Sefton Council facilitates flexible working options, such as work-from-home policies, and supports employee growth with training and supervision. The position offers six-month contracts with pay based on experience and references.
