Emergency Response Volunteer (North Yorkshire - York)

When there is a fire, flood or severe weather, we're among the first to respond. From making a cup of tea to trekking through snow and sleet to deliver the essentials, we work with other organisations to do what's needed straight away. This service operates 24/7 and is staffed by volunteers on an on call rota. **To be a part of this Emergency Response Service, we are looking volunteers who:** - Can access Huntington Fire Station YO32 9LW within 45 minutes - Can join a rota to be on call 2 x12 hour shifts per month - Can drive, have held a driving licence for at least two years, have access to own vehicle and be willing to drive a Red Cross vehicle. - Are available to undertake approximately 19 hours of required e-learning modules and Zoom training sessions in the first few months of volunteering plus other ongoing service specific trainings as required. **Health and Safety Statement** We take an individual approach to ensuring your safety. We may ask you to complete a simple risk assessment. We will also have a conversation with you to discuss any restrictions that may still be in place in your region and identify any adjustments you may need. Due to the nature of this role, applicants must undergo an Enhanced with Adults barred Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. **Diversity** Diversity is something we celebrate.
