Job Description

The role of the **External Communications Officer** is to build and strengthen relationships with our local community, the media, patients and external stakeholders through community engagement, corporate communications, press and social media, public relations and stakeholder management.

- You must have great **interpretation skills** and enjoy speaking to a variety of people.

- **Strong listening and communication skills**

- **Understanding of social media** and up to date with trends

- **Strong presenting skills**

- **Good writing skills** (this can be developed through training)

- Ability to work effectively as a **team member**

Orkney Native Wildlife Project is looking for passionate, inspiring young leaders to create a youth forum with the ultimate aim of promoting and protecting native wildlife. You don’t need to have a lot of experience but passion, willingness to learn and commitment is a must.

What we are looking for:

- Anyone with a passion for Wildlife

- Aged between 16-30

- Willingness to learn and develop their skills

- Interested in attending events, workshops and bimonthly meetings

- Confident in sharing creative ideas

- Excited to speak up and act for wildlife

- To attend a minimum of 4 meetings a year
