Maureen (retired) says...
“I never would have thought I’d go back to work so soon after retiring, but I felt I needed a way to connect with others again. That’s when I thought, why not help those who needed it most? Through Prestige Nursing & Care, I’m able to assist the elderly who have lost their independence through an accident or sickness. I didn’t have any previous care experience, but with Prestige’s introductory care training I felt confident. The bonus is that I still have time to see my grandchildren and enjoy life while I’m still able.”
Shannon's story...
Shannon Lowe joined Prestige Nursing & Care in December 2017. Being new to care Shannon was enrolled onto our Care Certificate Training programme. Shannon showed true passion for care work and got on well with clients who would request her when possible.
After successfully completing the course, Shannon developed further by successfully completing her Level 2 Adult Care worker qualification which was supported and funded by the Prestige. As an experienced carer Shannon has been trained in many clinical specialist techniques to support clients with complex needs, which has also supported her own development.
In 2019 Shannon secured a role in the office to coordinate rosters for Derby and Nottingham. Now, having become Field Care Supervisor for the branch she supports new and current team members in the field. She plans to continue developing and completing her NVQ Level 3.
