A Christmas poem from Lesley Greenwood

December 18, 2020

What a year! Here’s a little poem I’ve just written for you all. Let’s hope we have a better year in 2021 – keep positive! Merry Christmas… Lesley x

Christmas comes but once a year

We have fun, jollity and a few reindeer

However 2020 hasn’t brought us much cheer

But nature family and friends we now hold dear

The world has changed and we’re all rather in fear

But don’t worry we’ll come out of it when Covid’s clear

Until then we must cherish what’s near

Times are different but Christmas is here

So enjoy what you have, and give to those most dear

As giving and kindness are what will get us through

So helping others is what you must do!

The pandemic has changed what we all know

But through change that’s how we all grow

So don’t despair, things will repair

Health and charity are what will get us through

This dreadful year, who ever knew

That things we thought we needed most

Were just props that we used and needed to boast

Our health is the most important thing

So get outside have a walk and sing

Whatever you’re doing this Christmas day

Just remember to take time to pray

For those you hold close and most dear

And remember to have some Christmas cheer!
