ISAs explained

An ISA is essentially a tax-efficient wrapper in which you can hold savings and investments, with any returns you make protected from income tax, Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and tax on dividends. There are several different kinds of ISA to choose from.

For example, a cash ISA might suit you if you don’t want to take any risks with your money, whilst a stocks and shares ISAs might interest you if you are keen to try your hand at investing and are comfortable accepting a level of risk in return for potentially higher rewards.

Our ISA guides can tell you everything you need to know about ISAs, including more about the tax benefits they offer, how the various types of ISA work, and how your annual ISA allowance works.
