Introduction to Koru Kids
Koru Kids is on a mission to build the world’s best childcare.
We’re the UK’s fastest-growing childcare service, striving to make it easier and more affordable for families to access high-quality childcare.
We’re on the hunt for caring and reliable people of all ages in cities across the UK to become amazing childcarers, either as part-time nannies or full-time early educators.
Why we’re working with Rest Less
We believe over 50s are perfect for our childcare roles and our families think they’re pretty amazing too! They’re reliable, experienced, and committed to supporting the families they work with. We’re looking to grow the number of people with life experience in our childcare roles as we’ve seen how incredible they are as inspiring and nurture children and this is exactly what our families are looking for.
This year our Stop the Pause campaign is fighting for employers to offer more support to women experiencing menopause symptoms. We want to hire 5000 nannies and childminders into our menopause-friendly workplace this year and into roles where they feel valued and supported. We know the community at Restless share our aspiration to allow older women to be able to press play on their careers again.

Real-life stories
Glaucia, mother of four
Sixty-year-old Glaucia found a new reason to smile when she landed a job as a part-time nanny with Koru Kids. In her current role, she’s made to feel nothing but welcome, which she says is largely a consequence of the support she receives from Koru Kids.
She explained, “Koru Kids were so welcoming and I don’t feel like I am the odd one out because I’m older. I can engage with other nannies that are my age and I get so much support from the agency staff. Any time I call them with a concern or question, they answer quickly and I feel like they’re always there for me.”

Nashwah, mother of four, grandmother of two
Nashwah is a mother of four and grandma of two. She has a CACHE qualification and a science degree. She enjoys reading, going to the gym and going out on walks. She has cared for her friends’ children, doing the school run, helping with homework and cooking with them.
“As I am from the Middle East, my culture is different to that of most people in the UK. So, I would like to thank Koru Kids for providing this opportunity for people like me, which has introduced me to a different culture and allowed me to socialise and mix with different people either at school when I pick up the kids or in the park where I take the kids to play. Also, Koru Kids provides very good facilities such as a training course (Boot Camp), a First Aid course, the ability to choose my working days and hours, and most importantly being able to choose the family I work with which is not far from home. All Koru Kids staff are lovely, friendly and very supportive. I would strongly recommend Koru Kids for all nannies and families.”
Moira, Grandmother of two
Moira has three adult children and two grandchildren. She has previously worked in a primary school, done lots of babysitting and nannied full-time. She also worked in customer services and operations.
“I’m newly retired and here is a job that I’m qualified to do and that I could enjoy. The hours suit me too! I had worked in a primary school and had spent the last four years caring for my grandsons. Koru Kids arranged introductions to families and I start work with a lovely family next week.
