Menopause in the workplace

About this event
Did you know…
A staggering 1 million women are poised to quit their jobs here in the UK following the 900,000 who have already left their jobs because of lack of menopause support, and 63% of companies still have no menopause policy in place.
A consequence of this lack of support? The UK loses an estimated 14m workdays every year due to menopause symptoms. With menopause mainly affecting those in their late 40s and early 50s, too many women are leaving work at the peak of their careers, exacerbating the pension and gender pay-gap, weakening gender diversity and doing nothing to attract and retain talent.
It’s no wonder the menopause has fast become one of the most important and topical issues facing businesses today, with growing recognition that the impact that it has on female talent retention and mental health can no longer be underestimated or overlooked and the taboo must go.
Watch the video below and hear our expert panellists talk about
- what menopause in the workplace really means,
- the actions that can be taken to make things better as an employer, and
- how, as an employee, you can broach the topic of menopause with your employer.
