How to become a puppy raiser

About this event

Want to hear about how you can raise a puppy to support Guide Dogs? Then this event could be for you!

Being a volunteer puppy raiser means looking after one of our puppies for an average of 15 months full time within your home.

Our puppy raisers learn our bespoke training programme and implement this with their puppy in training. This role also involves providing the puppy with a loving home and socialising them to new environments. There might be some chewed slippers and long nights, but nothing beats the rewarding feeling of being a puppy raiser.

This event will feature a range of speakers from Guide Dogs and activities to really sample what it is like to be a puppy raiser volunteer at Guide Dogs. You will hear first-hand from Guide Dogs staff members and existing volunteers about what it means to be a puppy raiser and the responsibilities of the role. If you are interested in joining the #GuideDogsFamily then register for the event for free!
