T London. Lovely, Fabulous, Marvellous, Brilliant Fragrances

At CountryWives we only write favourable reviews. Why make anyone miserable? The daily news does that!  If a product doesn’t meet our demanding criteria, then we won’t waste your time telling you about it. But I have to admit that recommending things we really like means we use the same old adjectives – lovely, fabulous, marvellous, brillliant  – you get the gist. Until we get smell-o-vision for websites, it’s difficult to get across how gorgeous fragrances are. T London is a case in point.

The T in T London stands for Tea and Travel. Founder and creative director Jayne Kethro uses fragrance to to bring alive memories of her travels around the globe. And she does it beautifully. Her expertly blended fragrances are gentle yet potent.

I don’t think I’m alone when I say I like to put something special in the way of products in our guest room ensuite. I want my visitors to think they matter to me. I want them to think I have good taste. And T-London fulfils that criteria brilliantly. Plus, T London makes a thoughtful gift that is bound to be appreciated by the recipient.

I may find fragrances tricky to describe, but luckily Jayne is very good at evoking each of her four subtle, yet complex, scents:

YERBA MATE  Is a fresh, stimulating aroma, inspired by the steeped leaf infusion of Argentina and South America. It has a hint of petitgrain citrus, a crush of green leaves, the exotic depth of guaic wood and an earthy veviter base.

DARJEELING The champagne of teas, Darjeeling is known for its uniquely bright and optimistic fragrance. This crisp, refreshing blend is inspired by the tea gardens and hill stations of the East Indian Himalayas. Zesty lemongrass, a sun-drenched twist of citrus, a shot of spicy nutmeg and a rich black tea base.

DIMBULA  Steeped in aromatic essential oils – freshly crushed cardamom, a spicy hit of black peppercorn, black tea and coriander over a warm, reassuring cedarwood base.

TUKUYU Deeply warming, spiced aroma inspired by travels to Tanzania’s Great Rift Valley. The dark resin of rock-rose, a dash of nutmeg, basil leaf and warm frankincense over an earthy amberwood base. £1 will be donated to an African conservation project for every Tukuyu product sold.
