Very Rewarding Fashion – Flattering Clothes Designed Especially for “midsters”

October 4, 2019

This article was written for Annabel & Grace, which is now part of Rest Less.

Here at A&G, we discovered the joys of JD Williams a year ago. If you’re not familiar with the brand, it’s an online department store that sells a huge range of products. Aimed at 45+ customers, you’ll find ranges for women, men, children and the home. We particular like their fashion because a lot of effort has been put into designing flattering, affordable clothes for the slightly older woman.

Patterns aren’t just scaled up or down for different sizes – they create unique silhouettes using real bodies, not static mannequins. And JD Williams is a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative which works to improve the working conditions of people all over the world.

And there’s more – they recently launched a generous rewards programme. Sign up is free and you’ll be treated to gifts, exclusive competitions, giveaways and special discounts. READ MORE

DON’T MISS THIS! In October, the free gift is a stylish check/ leopard print reversible scarf (RRP £25.99) exclusively for JD Williams Rewards customers (min spend £50).

Annabel and I thought it would be fun to see how we would style the generously-sized free scarf and this is what we came up with – hope you approve of our choices!

Why not go wild and pair your leopard print scarf with black and white. We both fell for this trouser suit and no wonder – it definitely makes a statement and was very comfortable. I would happily wear it anywhere – a dinner date, trip to London, or lunch with my girlfriends. The trousers have an elasticated waist and are available in three different styles. And I must mention our super comfortable footwear – Annabel was full of praise for her ankle boots and I’ve been wearing my suede mustard loafers over and over again and, amazingly, mine are currently on offer for under £20!

Animal print continues to be a high fashion trend and so let’s embrace it if you haven’t already. I rarely venture out in a skirt but I would in this flattering maxi wraparound with its satiny feel. Never worn PU before but this jacket was a revelation with its flattering narrow sleeves and gorgeous on-trend chocolate colour.

  • Joanna Hope satin animal wrap maxi skirt £55 SHOP NOW

Or how about this more casual denim on denim styling. Annabel decided to wear two shirts which I think looks great and it’s always a bonus to ring the changes sartorially speaking…

  • Blue animal print denim shirt £12 (was £30) SHOP NOW
  • Everyday zip pocket skinny trousers £35 SHOP NOW

I found the leopard print scarf was just the job when accessorising a more neutral outfit. Perfect for those of you who want to be on-trend but prefer a more muted animal print look. I cannot recommend the trousers highly enough – have them in three colours now, they are super comfortable and they wash and wear like a dream. Have put it with probably the best polo neck I have ever tried on (and I’ve tested out quite a few!).

So do join the JDW Rewards Scheme – there’s so much on offer on their website, we think you’ll be really glad you did.
