We are all special in our own distinct way. Whether you have achieved great heights in your career, raised rounded happy children, or are leading a peaceful fulfilled life. Our Woman of the Week feature highlights all kinds of #womenover50 to show the kind of lives we are living right now…

This week it’s the turn of Sue who we met in Corfu where she helps Ionian Estates with the styling and interior layout of their villas. As you can see from this photograph she does not look her age at all, has a fabulous figure, gorgeous skin and hair, and dresses in a very youthful but stylish way. She is a very warm and fun lady. Sue has never married, though she says, “Don’t rule it out!” Although retired she still gets asked to do projects, recently in The Maldives, Thailand and Corfu.

How have you changed since you turned 50? I am much more relaxed, and feel the same as when I was in my 30’s (with the addition of grey hair, which I love).

Where would you like to live given the choice? I have lived and worked in South Africa, Bermuda, Hong Kong, New York, San Francisco, Singapore and Phuket. I am now living in a small Hampshire Village but would like to end up somewhere warm and by the sea in Europe.

What do you like to do in your free time? When possible scuba diving, though lately walking my dog, Ellie.

What is your fashion secret? I have just stocked up my winter wardrobe from Uniqlo, great sweaters, and lightweight puffa jackets. Their thermal t-shirts are a must for UK weather. Also I love Roxtons country stores in Hungerford. In my “past” life I loved Armani and Pucci. Since returning to the UK my Le Chameau wellingtons are worn virtually every day

Have you embraced technology? I have a love-hate relationship with technology, though I use the brain exercise app. Lumosity every day, and it becomes addictive.

Have you got a favourite beauty brand? I have just started using Charlotte Tilbury products; a great lipstick – Penelope Pink. I also love Maybelline mascara, I have tried dozens of different ones but I always return to Maybelline.

Do you have a beauty tip? Yes, hot water and lemon drink in the morning.

Do you cook? I cook most days but I rarely use a cook book as I like to experiment.

What would your last meal choice be? It would have to he a good roast with all the trimmings and a glass of white wine.

What about your favourite books and/or author? My favourite book would have to be The Great Gatsby, and I like the authors Anita Shreve and Helen Dunmore

And TV? I love a good drama/ thriller.

And music? Anything from the Eagles.

Is there something that you could not do without? My hairdryer

Who do you most admire/aspire to? Definitely Helen Mirren.

Finally do you have a top tip for #womenover50? Look after your appearance, have regular good haircuts and always wonder what is around the corner!
