Essential beauty tips for women over 50

Sallow skin, crepey eyes and thinning lips? Starting to get those dreaded jowls? Well, don’t worry – no, seriously, I really mean it – there’s never been a better time to be women over fifty. Our mothers didn’t have as many resources as we do to keep us looking fresh and attractive. And I don’t mean Botox or fillers (although I am personally a fan of both in moderation). But keeping your teeth nice and white and applying some light make up every day, can definitely make as much (positive) difference as intrusive surgical procedures. So, here are some essential beauty tips for women over 50:

1. ENSURE YOUR SKIN IS IN TIP TOP CONDITION A good night’s sleep works wonders, so does a rich hydrating cream. Exfoliate two or three times a week.

2. BE BOTHERED TO PUT SOME MAKE UP ON EVERY DAY even if it is just some under eye concealer, mascara, blusher and a moisturising lip balm.

3. USE A LIGHT, HIGHLY PIGMENTED FOUNDATION designed for mature skins – like Bobbi Brown or Chanel’s Vital Lumiere foundation with SPF15.

4. DEFINE YOUR EYES use brown eyeliner (never black) and smudge using a cotton bud to soften.

5. USE A CREAM BLUSHER which are better than powders for older, dry skin.  Personally, I’m a huge fan of Bobbi Brown cream blusher (especially as I use it every day and it has lasted me over TWO years!)

Most of all, remember you will never look as beautiful as you do today!
