If you have hooded eyes, it makes them look smaller than they really are.
But they are surprisingly easy to disguise, making your peepers appear
larger, brighter and more open.
Start with your eyebrows.
Droopy eyes can look more perky by slightly arching the brows and extending them outward toward the temples (rather than having the tail curve down around the eye). I recommend using a professional to shape your brows – their expertise can make a huge difference as they will know exactly what shape is right to frame your face.
Plus, as eyebrows lighten and thin with age, using an eyebrow pencil will also make a dramatic difference, restoring definition and structure. Create small, light, imperfect strokes, tracing where brows have thinned so they look natural and not drawn on.
If you are so inclined – and I know this isn’t for everyone – ask your beauty therapist about having Botox above the outer ends of your eyebrows – I get a definite lift of my droopy lids when I have mine done.
Essential tips are dark liner (a slight wing really helps), applying a medium coloured eyeshadow above the natural crease and, if you can be bothered, adding false eyelashes to the outer edges of each upper eyelid. Check out the Look Fabulous Forever video which shows you that it’s possible to make a dramatic difference to hooded eyes simply by using a few clever make up tricks.
