What I only found out very recently is that you can buy make up to match your season. So we asked Maud, an expert stylist from House of Colour, to give me a Wake Up Your Make Up session on how to apply a quick daytime make up using colours that are guaranteed to suit me.
I gained three useful bits of knowledge from my make up session:
- That powder can be very comfortable to wear and evens out my skin tone, especially now that I have a little bit of a tan.
- That my daytime eye make up should be a little less heavy than I usually ladle on. Less is more.
- That House of Colour is a great place to find lipsticks. I usually buy from badly lit department stores, only to find the product doesn’t suit me when I get out in the daylight. Now, I have a choice of colours that I absolutely know will be perfect for me. What’s more, the lipstick Maud put on me was very creamy and felt moisturising (not tacky/sticky) and it lasts for ages.
You can get 30% off House of Colour cosmetics if you have a Wake Up Your Make Up session with one of their consultants. I was lucky enough to have Maud who is based in Ascot to do mine, but there are lots of equally highly trained stylists offering various classes around the country, so there’s bound to be one near where you live. And if you already know your season colour, just go straight to the House of Colour website to choose from the wide range of cosmetics.
