About the hosts

Alison

Alison is Operations Manager for Health and Social Care Connect, adult social care’s contact centre in Eastbourne. She leads a team of over 70 staff who handle thousands of incoming requests per month from members of the public and medical professions for possible support or signposting from adult social care. Alison is looking forward to talking to local Rest Less members about her role in adult social care and current vacancies in her team.

Sue

“I joined adult social care 2.5 years ago, on the day that the 1st lockdown started!  Before that I had been self-employed for 35 years, running a garden machinery and motorcycle business with my husband near Wadhurst.  I had no previous care experience at all, so the council put me through all the necessary training before I was let loose on the community.    I really enjoy the job because of the difference we make to people’s lives.  In my spare time I help my daughters with their horses and walk the dogs.  I also like a bit of gardening and DIY.”
