Job Description

We are recruiting a Teacher at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 32.50

Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 31st August 2027

Location: Derwendeg Primary School

We pay an attractive salary of £33,731 - £51,942 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The Governing Body of Derwendeg Primary School wishes to appoint a highly motivated and talented individual to join our highly successful team. We are seeking to employ an outstanding Foundation Phase classroom teacher who has high standards of expectations and commitment to enable children to achieve the highest possible standards.

You should:

Be an excellent classroom teacher with proven high expectations of all children, both academically and socially.

Have knowledge of the new curriculum for Wales and be able to inspire and motivate children who are excited about their learning.

Be willing to play an active role in all aspects of school life, including clubs and taking responsibility for curriculum areas.

Have an excellent understanding of ICT both as a teaching and learning tool.

Be fully committed to raising standards in learning.

Be a flexible, well organised and highly motivated professional.

Be able to work in partnership with a team of supportive colleagues.

Be able to communicate effectively with parents and outside agencies.

Be somebody who wants to make a difference and 'Aim for Excellence'

All shortlisted candidates will be asked to teach a lesson in Ystrad Mynach Primary as part of the selection process.

For the role, we ask that you have:

Qualified teacher status and current EWC registration.

Evidence of successful relevant teaching experience including teaching practice.

The ability to create a challenging and effective learning environment and have effective pupil management skills.
