About the Business Management Team
Supporting GLDs legal teams & making our business work
The Government Legal Department (GLD) provides legal services across government. Our Business Management Teams work alongside our legal teams and expert services, providing the operational support that enables them to deliver effectively for their clients.
Our Business Management Teams are co-located across GLDs Advisory and Expert Service legal teams. They provide a professional service, using their knowledge of the client department and the wider working context to help legal teams operate effectively and efficiently. The Business Management community is integral to the legal service GLD provides, working in partnership with legal colleagues and client departments and enabling lawyers to focus on the delivery of high-quality legal work.
Structurally, the Business Management Profession sits within Strategy, People and Culture (SPC), under Strategy and Business Management. The profession is led by the Head of Profession, Rachel Farrand, and comprises 17 co-located teams and around 300 colleagues.
We have invested significantly in the profession over the last two years, strengthening our professional community, developing career pathways and ensuring our service is responsive, focused and respected.
These vacancies provide an opportunity to join that community and support teams undertaking important and often high-profile work across government.
