Job description

The team sit within our new Corporate and Operational Services operating group. The wider team deals with a variety of value streams including redundancy payments, debt relief, processing financial payments and the customer service telephone line.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our PPI Team in our Exeter site. We have vacancies for 5 Distribution Case Officers.

The work of the PPI Team is focused on the timely distribution of funds received from the recovery of PPI related assets held on bankruptcy cases. This is a significant piece of work for the Insolvency Service which directly supports our objective of maximising returns to creditors. The successful candidates will be working within an operational team, dealing with a variety of casework and admin duties for the PPI Team, with eventual scope to move into other teams once the PPI Project is complete. This includes sending out letters and emails, entering information onto our casework system and distributing funds to creditors.

Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • managing a case load of bankruptcy and partnership cases, using our bespoke electronic case management system
  • sending letters and emails to insolvency creditors and dealing with follow up queries and information requests
  • accurately entering information onto our computer system and producing standard reports for approval
  • following guidance and protocols to prepare cases for payment and distributing funds to creditors
  • providing general support to the other business areas outlined above, when this is needed
  • providing excellent customer service

Person specification

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • have a motivation for learning, excellent organisational skills and good time management enabling you to meet deadlines
  • an ability to follow instructions and guidelines carefully and to ask for help when needed
  • a desire to work as part of a team to meet targets. This includes helping colleagues and being flexible when urgent work needs to be completed or other workstreams require focus
  • be able to work unsupervised and use your initiative
  • have some experience of using Outlook, Word and Excel, or be prepared to learn these skills
