Job summary

As a CKIM practitioner you will contribute towards the Departments compliance with its obligations under the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI) and the Public Records Act 1958.

Working with CKIM team leaders, you will ensure that data processing operations are sufficiently transparent to meet statutory obligations and the expectations of the wider pubic

You will work with Digital teams to ensure the development of new technologies and services are DPA, UK GDPR and DRA compliant.

You will prepare and make recommendations on the disclosure of information for Right of Access Requests and FOI requests. Prepare reports to demonstrate compliance and performance against standards.

You will provide advice and guidance to the organisation in respect of information handling, information lifecycle management, records retention and the interpretation of policy.

Job description

The work of the CPS is dependent on the use of data and information to inform high quality casework outcomes. This role is integral to ensuring that CPS staff can effectively work in safe and secure physical and virtual environments where data and information are used with confidence.

Working to the CKIM Manager you will have an important role in ensuring the delivery of CKIM services; with an understanding of information compliance principles and the statutory requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018), UK GDPR, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Public Records Act 1958 you will be able to demonstrate how you have been able to contribute to departmental compliance.

You will be able to use your skills and experience to review requests for information in order to advise on the disclosure/sharing of information. You will be able to effectively explain the principles of information management best practice to internal and external stakeholders.

You will be able to produce accurate and timely reports as directed by your manager, to demonstrate team performance and compliance with CPS data management objectives and legal compliance standards.

You will provide up to date advice to CPS staff in relation to information management compliance or be able to direct them to the most appropriate subject matter expert.

You will respond to requests for information and triage emails for the team mailboxes and will support the team in the planning, organisation and delivery of various governance and community of interest groups.
