We are now looking for a Deputy Director of Strategic Communication and Engagement to lead our communications, engagement and external affairs activity at a pivotal time for the organisation. This is a highly influential leadership role, responsible for shaping how we engage with customers, stakeholders, partners and colleagues, ensuring that insight and evidence are at the heart of everything we do. You will lead the development of a joined-up approach to customer engagement, external affairs and communications, helping to build understanding of HM Land Registry's priorities, strengthen our reputation, build our customer partnerships, and support the delivery of our strategic ambitions. As Head of Profession for Government Communications, you will also champion professional excellence and communications capability across the organisation.

Job description

As Deputy Director -Strategic Communication and Engagement, you will play a pivotal leadership role, responsible for shaping and delivering an integratedengagementstrategy that enhances the organisations visibility, credibility, and influence.

This role is central to creating awareness and understanding of HM Land Registrys mission, impact, and priorities, developing insight-ledengagementand partneringwith customers and stakeholdersto support HMLRs brand, organisationalgoalsand narrative.

As Head of Profession for Government Communications, the Deputy Director leads the development of communications capability across HMLR, aligned to Government Communication Service (GCS) standards and the Modern Communications Operating Model. The Deputy Director will drive professional standards within HMLR and ensure that customer / audience insight is guiding relevant, meaningful and impactful communications whether internal or external.

As a senior leader, you will play a key role in the Customer and Strategy Group, building capability, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, and ensuring HMLRs voice is coherent, compelling,supportiveand responsive to customer and stakeholder needs. This is critical todelivering digital services,expertiseand accessible property information that unlock a better,fasterand less stressful property market.

Person specification

We're looking for an accomplished leader with a strong track record of operating at a senior level in stakeholder engagement, communications, external affairs or a related discipline. You'll be equally comfortable setting strategic direction and building relationships, influencing senior stakeholders and translating complex issues into clear, compelling messages. You will bring experience of leading high-performing teams, delivering through collaboration and navigating change in a complex environment. Most importantly, you'll have the credibility, judgement and emotional intelligence to engage a wide range of audiences, build trust and help ensure that the voice of customers and stakeholders informs both decision-making and service delivery.
