This is an exciting opportunity to join our team supporting end users in making the best use of our HR, payroll and Expenses system (Workday). For the past 5 years Workday has been a key enabler for HR to support over 8,000 staff.
We have an exciting opportunity for a team member to join us. Working with our HR colleagues and DfE managers in the use and maintenance of our Workday Systems organisational structure along with being the first point of contact queries regarding position creation on the system. You will play an important role in embedding the use of our system by providing a high quality advice and service in response to queries.
Job description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure that staffing transactions on our HR and Payroll system.
- Support, advise and coach managers to build organisational capability in our HR self-service model whilst ensuring our HR system is up to date and accurate.
- Prioritise own workload and work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure that all monthly pay impacting actions and queries are resolved in line with the monthly pay impacting cycle ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Improve the end user experience by identifying trends in manager queries and working with the HR system development team to understand how system configuration could improve the end user experience.
- Build organisational capability in our HR system and in particular position management principles through continually reviewing and improving our user guidance and supporting other interventions such as user training sessions.
- Lead ad hoc projects to support orgs and structures and position management principles as required.
Person specification
Essential Criteria:
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with proven track record of managing individual workload against conflicting deadlines to tight timescales.
- Experience of working in a HR environment providing generalist HR advice to line managers.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing with the ability to instil confidence in the advice provided.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Good attention to detail when working under pressure to ensure that people are paid correctly and on time in line with our monthly payroll cycle.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working within a HR systems team and the ability to understand how good HR system management can underpin and support wider HR functions
Desirable criteria will only be assessed at interview, in the event of a tie break situation to make an informed decision.
