The Secondee role is available within the International Directorate and will be within the Joint International Crime Centre (JICC).
The Joint International Crime Centre (JICC) was launched in April 2023 and was created in order to coordinate and support the response of UK policing and law enforcement to tackle international crime. The JICC comprises officers and staff from across UK policing and the NCA, offering a multi-agency approach to meeting the increasing international demands of territorial policing. The JICC provides a whole-system approach to tackling international crime harnessing UK and international expertise and providing access to specialist capabilities both within the NCA and partner organisations including HMRC, ACRO, the CPS and partners across UK law enforcement and criminal justice. The JICC is jointly overseen by the NCA Director General and Chair of the National Police Chiefs Council. |
Job description
As a Manager within the Police & Partner Engagement Unit (PPEU) the post holder will:
Lead and develop a multi disciplinary team for the triage, acquisition and exploitation of tactical and strategic intelligence relating to international criminality affecting the UK. Provide operational direction, specialist advice and authoritative guidance to UK law enforcement partners regarding international capabilities, ensuring that PPEU support is delivered professionally, proportionately and in line with national priorities and legislative requirements.
Contribute to and oversee the strategic direction of PPEU activity, ensuring that national and local strategies, policies, legislative frameworks and operational priorities are effectively embedded, promoted and consistently applied across UK policing, government departments and wider law enforcement partners.
Accountable for operational service delivery, performance management and the effective deployment of resources across the team to ensure best value and alignment NCA International Directorate strategic objectives.
Assure the development and delivery of high quality products ensuring that they meet required standards and inform national and local decision making. You will provide governance and oversight to ensure activities are conducted thoroughly, ethically and expeditiously, in full compliance with the Agencys policy framework and relevant legislation.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with policing and wider law enforcement partners, government bodies and NCA counterparts, representing the JICC, the International Directorate and the NCA at senior level forums to influence system wide capability development and operational coordination.
Ensure the delivery of expert direction on police to police and judicial cooperation, support investigative and intelligence teams, and contribute to system capability uplift by leading or facilitating training and continuous professional development activities.
The role may involve participation in on call rotas and periodic domestic or international travel to support operational activity, partner engagement or the maintenance of professional competency.
Responsible for developing staff, promoting and maintaining professional standards, overseeing conduct and welfare, and ensuring all activity upholds the NCAs values and its mission to lead the UKs fight to cut serious and organised crime.
