The Fraud Prevention Centre (FPC) in HMRC Security is a growing area, focusing on countering fraud across HMRC services and providing secure Identity and Access Management services for customers. Our mission is to protect our customers and their online accounts from malicious actors, providing a high-quality customer service and support.
Our team is rapidly growing as we invest in new technologies and capabilities, and we are in search of enthusiastic individuals who can help us in achieving our mission.
We are continually improving the service we give to our customers and in line with this we are creating a new response and management team within the HMRC Fraud Prevention Centre.
Job description
As a Knowledge Manager, you will lead the development, organisation and continuous improvement of knowledge and information management across the team. You will ensure colleagues have access to accurate, timely and well-structured information to support operational decision-making, customer outcomes and risk management.
You will work closely with operational, policy and digital teams to embed effective knowledge management practices and improve how information is captured, stored, shared and used across the business.
The role requires strong analytical thinking, stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate complex information into clear, accessible formats.

Person specification
You will be someone who can organise complex information, influence stakeholders and improve how knowledge is used to deliver outcomes.
You should demonstrate:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and structure large volumes of information.
- Experience of working collaboratively across teams.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to prioritise and deliver at pace in a changing environment.
Essential Criteria
- Experience of developing, managing or improving knowledge, guidance or information systems.
- Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, accessible content.
- Experience of engaging with stakeholders to gather, validate and improve information.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience using knowledge management or collaboration tools (e.g. SharePoint or similar platforms).
- Understanding of information governance, data protection or records management principles.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of working in a government, security, compliance or operational delivery environment.
- Knowledge of knowledge management frameworks, taxonomies or content design principles.
- Experience of process improvement or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience of data analysis or using insight to inform decision-making.
- Understanding of digital or data-driven environments.
