Job Description

Chapel-en-le-Frith C of E VC Primary School is seeking to appoint flexible, dedicated and caring Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistants to join our supportive and committed team.

Our school is a large primary setting with a nursery and enhanced resource provision, supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs. Due to increasing demand, we are expanding our team to continue delivering high-quality, inclusive provision.

The successful candidates will work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo to support pupils with complex needs. This may include supporting communication needs, promoting independence, and providing personal/intimate care where required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support pupils' learning, development, and independence
  • Support pupils' wellbeing, health, and safety
  • Work closely with teaching staff and other professionals
  • Contribute to behaviour support and positive relationships
  • Support communication using a range of approaches
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers
