Role:Caretaker

Contract:PERMANENT, 52 WEEKS PER YEAR

Hours: 37 HOURS PER WEEK

Salary: Scale 4, Point 8-9 (£27,709 - £28,153)

Closing Date: 23/10/2026 at 12pm Midday

We are looking for a Caretaker who is reliable, proactive and is hands-on to join our team and support the smooth day-to-day running of our school sites. This is a vital role where you'll help create a safe, clean and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Working under the direction of the Deputy Premises Manager, you will:

Carry out day-to-day caretaking duties, maintenance and site support Undertake health & safety checks, inspections and security routines Support opening and closing of buildings and site security Complete basic repairs, maintenance and site upkeep Prepare rooms and spaces for lessons, events and lettings Assist with deliveries, furniture movement and site organisation Respond to alarms, emergencies and site issues when required

You will also help ensure that the site remains well-presented, safe and compliant at all times.

We are looking for a candidate who:

Practical, hands-on and enjoys a varied working day Able to work independently and as part of a team Committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment Organised, reliable and takes pride in their work Flexible and able to respond to changing priorities and emergencies

Experience in caretaking, maintenance or facilities is essential, and a positive, can‑do attitude is key.

Additional information

Shift rota including early mornings and evenings Participation in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota Occasional work across multiple sites may be required

The Beaulieu Park School is Essex's first 'All Through' school and the primary phase opens for reception students in September 2018 with the secondary phase opening in September 2019. The Beaulieu Park School will welcome its first cohort of 60 reception aged children in two classes. In September 2019, 180 Year 7 students will be admitted. Year on year the school will grow, providing 420 places for local children between four and eleven years old by 2024 and 900 places for local children between 11 and 16 years old by 2023.
