Early Years Lead/Manager - Pre School

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated Room Leader/Manager to join our pre-school team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate early years professional to provide outstanding leadership, support high quality teaching and learning, and help create a nurturing, stimulating environment where every child is unique and can thrive. The successful candidate will work closely with staff, children and families to ensure excellent standards of care, education, safeguarding and child development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

As Designated Safeguarding Lead you will be required to deliver training each year to staff

Lead and inspire the pre-school team to deliver exceptional early years education and care

Support planning, implementation and evaluation of engaging learning experiences

Monitor childrens progress and ensure individual needs are met

Promote safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing at all times

Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers as well as external professionals

Support staff development through coaching, mentoring and performance management

Ensure compliance with EYFS requirements and relevant Policies and Procedures

Essential Requirements

Relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years

Significant experience working in an Early Years setting

Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and Safeguarding practices

Excellent Leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Commitment to providing inclusive, child-centred learning experiences

Writtle Green preschool is a registered charity, number 1023360. The charity has a committee of Trustees who are registered with Ofsted. Last inspection was September 2024, graded good, registration 650172.

The preschool is open to children aged 2-4 years, from 8.30am to 2.45pm, and operates term time only. (Same term dates as the infant & junior schools in Writtle with whom we enjoy a close relationship)

Our purpose built home is within The Beryl Platt community centre which was completed and opened in September 2020. We have a large dedicated, secure outdoor play area, laid mainly to Astro turf. An area is also set aside for story telling/gardening. There is a mud kitchen, large sand pit and a music den, as well as climbing equipment, reading den and the popular race track.

We have a maximum of 18 places/morning session and currently have a waiting list. (19 in the afternoon session for children aged 3years +))
