Building Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical / Plumbing)
Location: Harley Street Campus, London
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Shift Pattern:
- 6:30am - 3:00pm
- 7:30am - 4:00pm
- 8:30am - 5:00pm
Rotating day shifts. Participation in an on-call rota is required (1 in 5).
We're looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical or plumbing background to join our Estates team. You'll play a key role in delivering a first-class maintenance service across our Harley Street Campus, helping to ensure our facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational for patients, visitors and colleagues.

What you'll do:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the estate.
- Diagnosing and repairing faults on mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Responding to emergency maintenance requests and prioritising urgent issues.
- Working in line with Health & Safety, COSHH and hospital compliance standards.
- Monitoring, auditing and maintaining building services equipment.
- Supporting minor project works and planned improvements.
- Liaising with and supervising specialist contractors when required.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records through the CAFM system.
- Providing technical support and guidance to hospital staff.
- Participating in the on-call rota and supporting fire safety requirements across the site.
What you'll bring
- NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Plumbing or a relevant Mechanical discipline.
- Previous experience within a commercial building maintenance or Hard FM environment.
- Strong mechanical and plumbing maintenance fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and statutory compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive, customer-focused approach.
