Working through Helm Campaigns, you will be representing and generating donations on behalf of St Raphaels hospice. They are an amazing cause providing end of life care for patients and supporting families facing the most difficult moments of their lives.
Our fundraisers use their genuine passion and enthusiasm to engage and connect with the public to encourage them to support the amazing work of St Raphael's by making a regular donation.
You might be based in shopping centres, garden centres, stores and at events. We work with brilliant venue bookers who find us all the best sites to work.
Who are we looking for:
You may have worked in a sales position before, door-to-door, a brand ambassador or other field based sales role. But if not we would still love to hear from you.
Our fundraisers come from a diverse range of backgrounds. Financial advisors, teachers, nurses, sales and company owners.
The thing that links them all is their love of conversation and genuine interest in people. Maybe you are the sort of person who ends up chatting whilst walking the dog or doing your shopping.
Who is Helm Campaigns:
We are a fundraising agency, set up by equally passionate people who genuinely really care about our fundraisers, our charity clients and the donors. We are very much values led and strive to put our fundraisers in environments conducive to brilliant human connection.
Quality is the most important thing for us and we want to ensure that our fundraisers are able to have genuine connections with people that results in long term support for St Raphael's.
The role itself:
You should be ethical and take pleasure in connecting with people, whether that is the manager of the site and staff or the public. You should really care about doing a job properly. You also need great people skills, able to engage and listen. This is not a sales job, people have to trust you and feel a connection. Most of all, you need strong self-motivation and real integrity. We employ amazing people and really strive to ensure they are properly looked after and in turn we trust them to work to a high standard. Anyone from any background can thrive in this job as long as they have these qualities. You need a car ideally as you will have materials to take with you and will generally be within 30-40 minutes of where you live.
Who you will represent:
St Raphael's Hospice has been caring for people with life-limiting illnesses in Sutton and Merton since 1987. From their inpatient ward to home visits, emotional support and bereavement care, they wrap around patients and families at the hardest moments of their lives.
In 2024/25 they made 910 referrals and delivered nearly 2,000 nurse visits in peoples own homes — all underpinned by their belief that the end of your life is as important as the life you've lived. As an independent local charity, St Raphael's relies on community fundraising to keep its doors open — NHS funding covers only part of their costs. Every regular donor secured by a Helm fundraiser directly funds nurses, carers and support workers who are there when families need them most. This is fundraising that genuinely matters.
How your work will make a difference:
On average a donor will stay with the charity for 5 years. A typical fundraiser will raise more than £250,000 for St Raphael's every year they work on the campaign. After just five years, through your professionalism, integrity and hard work, you could have raised more than £1.25 million for a hospice that supports local families through the most difficult moments of their lives.
There are so many other benefits to this role:
● This role can offer you genuine work life balance.
● 1/2/3/4 day roles available (6 - 24 hours per week)
● When successful in the role you can be flexible with the hours you work
● Work close to home
● When you visit a new site for the first time, you get an £80 discovery fee
● Autonomy to manage your own working day, yet support when you need it.
