The governors of Caton Primary School are looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the Caton Primary School team.

In September 2025, we extended our early years provision to cater for 3 year olds and this has been very successful with every place filled. This is an exciting time to be joining the schools Early Years unit as we now plan to expand our pre school provision further.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of child development in the early years and be dedicated to nurturing and supporting our youngest children in their learning and development. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential as the successful candidate will be able to build strong, positive relationships with the whole school community.
They will be a strong team player, able to work well alongside colleagues and on their own initiative, planning and delivering engaging learning experiences, supporting childrens personal, social, and emotional development, and contributing to creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
This role is for a minimum of 32.5 hours per week across 5 days, however a willingness to work additional hours at breakfast club and/or after school club would be advantageous. When submitting your application, please state your availability to provide wraparound care.

Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (e.g. CACHE level3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above
Paediatric first aid certificate
Experience of working with children in an early years setting
Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to maintain a safe learning environment
Experience of using EYFS online learning journals (e.g. Seesaw)
Experience supporting children with SEND
Experience planning and delivering Phase One phonics
