SEND Auditor

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated SEND Auditor to join our Quality Assurance Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in evaluating the quality and effectiveness of SEND services, ensuring statutory duties are met and supporting continuous improvement across the local area partnership. You will undertake audits, analyse performance and practice, identify strengths and areas for development, and provide assurance to senior leaders regarding the quality of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes and outcomes for children and young people.

The successful candidate will have experience of SEND legislation and practice, strong analytical skills, and the ability to produce high-quality reports that influence service improvement.

This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with education, health and social care partners.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, analytical and improvement-focused SEND Auditor to join our team and play a vital role in strengthening quality, compliance and service delivery across the SEND system.

About the Role

As a SEND Auditor, you will provide independent quality assurance and scrutiny of SEND services through a programme of audits, reviews and thematic evaluations. You will assess compliance with statutory requirements, evaluate the quality of practice, and identify opportunities for improvement that contribute to better experiences and outcomes for children, young people and their families.

Working closely with colleagues across education, health and social care, you will analyse information from a variety of sources, produce evidence-based reports and support leaders in understanding performance, risk and areas for development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Undertaking audits and quality assurance reviews of SEND services and processes.
• Evaluating the quality and effectiveness of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) practice.
• Reviewing compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and statutory guidance.
• Analysing qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends, strengths and improvement priorities.
• Producing detailed reports
• Supporting service improvement activity through clear recommendations.
• Contributing to inspection readiness and external assurance activity.
• Working collaboratively with partners across education, health and care.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people and who can provide robust challenge alongside constructive support.

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Knowledge of SEND legislation, guidance and statutory processes.
• Experience of audit, quality assurance, inspection and compliance.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills.
• The ability to interpret legislation, policy and complex information accurately.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Confidence in presenting findings and supporting improvement initiatives.
• The ability to work independently whilst maintaining effective relationships across services.
