3288 - Facilities Operative (Domestic Services)

Job summary

Barnsley Facilities Services BFS have vacancies for enthusiastic team players to work as Facilities Operatives, joining our Domestic Cleaning & Housekeeping Services within Barnsley Hospital.

We are looking for individuals who are flexible, eager to learn and develop in fast moving and challenging area of our business, so whilst previous experience is desirable, it is not essential as full training will be provided.

The available shifts are:

• 16 hrs p/w 16:00 - 20:00 - 3 week rota, working 2 weekends out of 3
• 20 hrs p/w 16:00 - 20:00 -3 week rota, working 2 weekends out of 3
• 15hrs p/w 17:00 20:00 Monday-Friday

Main duties of the job

As a Facilities Operative, you will:

• Provide a service to wards and departments cleaning in close proximity to beds, with due respect for patients dignity.
• Manage cleaning schedules in line with patient and ward activity
• Ensure all cleaning schedules are completed and checked on a daily basis.
• Provide emergency and ad hoc cleaning as required.
• Undertake manual and mechanical cleaning activities in accordance with the cleaning schedule
• Comply with methods of cleaning required for areas
• Work safely at all times giving due consideration to themselves and others
• Check and observe cleaning to be carried out in accordance with schedule
