Are you an experienced Senior Nurse or Allied Health Professional (AHP) seeking your next career challenge?
If you are, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialised and autonomous practitioner to join our Acute Medical team as an ACP or trainee ACP (depending on qualifications).
In this development role - you will work towards successfully completing the Advanced Practitioner (AP) MSc (Level 7) programme in line with the Trust framework for advanced practice and their primary professional regulatory body.
You will play a key part in the departments day to day operations by providing high quality care to patients and support to your acute medical colleagues, as well as championing a culture of excellence - enhancing team skills, promoting multidisciplinary collaboration, and driving continuous improvement.
Our Acute Medical department operates an Acute Medical Unit, Acute Medical Same Day Emergency Care Unit and short stay wards.

Main duties of the job
During the apprenticeship/training programme you will be supported to provide expert professional and independent clinical care which enables the coordination of a multi-professional seamless service for patients under clinical supervision by a name Educational Supervisor.
Drawing upon a diverse range of knowledge to determine evidence based therapeutic interventions, which will include prescribing medication where legally allowed
You will be expected to demonstrate all four pillars of practice, being involved in and leading upon leadership activities that enable a rich culture of education, research and quality evidence-based practice.

Experience
Essential
- oExtensive post registration experience, which must be as a fully qualified healthcare professional.
- oAbility to respond to, prioritise and analyse health conditions and ensure effective interventions are actioned in a timely manner
- oAbility to deal effectively with clinical issues within defined procedures and guidelines
- oAbility to work with undifferentiated and undiagnosed healthcare problems with support and under direct supervision.
- oEvidence of management skills gained through theory and or practice.
- oExperience of mentoring and developing staff.
- oBroad post registration clinical experience.
- oAbility to work autonomously and within a team.
- oAbility to demonstrate the implementation of research into practice.
- oAbility to undertake required clinical duties/procedures.

Qualifications
Essential
- oRegistered healthcare professional.
- oIT literate.
- oEvidence of continuing professional development.
- oLevel 6 1st level degree (some universities require a minimum award). Willing to work towards a recognised advanced practice qualification at level 7 including advanced physical assessment and consultation skills and non-medical prescribing
- oEvidence of teaching, supervision and assessment skills.
- oLevel 2 Maths and English (GCSE grade A*-C or O-level grades 4-9 or O-Level/GCSE A-C or equivalent or recgonised functional skills assessment and qualification.
Desirable
- oEvidence of prior learning at level 7.
- oPostgraduate qualification or training relevant to speciality.
- oMentor/assessor and/or teaching qualification.
- oParticipation in research or audit projects.
- oALS provider/instructor.
- oEvidence of mandatory training updates.
- oManagement qualification / leadership training.
- o Registered independent non-medical prescriber
- Working towards an MSc in Advanced Practice.
