Job summary

You will be employed in an ARRS Healthcare Support Worker role by Township 2 PCN Limited primarily based at the Richmond Medical Centre, 465 Richmond Road, Sheffield. The practice boundary includes a mixed demographic which provides opportunity to work with patients from all different backgrounds. The staff team includes a wide skill mix and we provide a supportive environment with a focus on staff wellbeing. We are looking for a caring, motivated and skilled HCA to join our team.

Having completed a recognised care qualification NVQ/QCF/Health & Social Care Apprenticeship, BTEC, Care Certificate or Access to Healthcare the HCA will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment and preventative care, The post holder will be an integral part of the general practice team and will need to work well with all levels of staff and with patients from a variety of backgrounds.

The HCA works within the PCN and practice to support the nursing and administrative teams in the delivery of patient care. This role involves working as part of the practice multi-disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.

Job responsibilities

Job description

You will be supporting the PCN personal care team in their duties to deliver Practice housebound and care home services

This involves supporting the PCN team in their duties to deliver care to patients under their patient list within practice clinics including

o new patient health checks /NHS health checks / Weight Management,

o ECG recording,

o Phlebotomy,

o To give flu vaccines / immunisations within the scope of established protocols,

o Chaperoning duties,

o Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses.

o Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being.

o Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual.

o Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted.

o At all times, observes infection control procedures and protocols to protect patients, colleagues and themselves.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • A recognised care qualification; NVQ, QCF, Health and Social Care Apprenticeship, BTEC, Care Certificate or Access to Healthcare.

Desirable

  • Experience of using systmone,
  • Qualified in Phlebotomy,
  • Experience in a Primary Care environment.
