Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our team here at the Dragonfly Unit.
The post sits within the Therapies pathway led by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist comprising OT, OTIs Art therapy and family therapy. You will become a member of the multidisciplinary team dedicated to the delivery of recovery focused interventions for young people with a range of mental health difficulties.
You will join at an exciting time as the clinical model is implemented across the unit bringing together a relational, developmental and mental health approach to care delivery and intervention.
Main duties of the job
Main duties are to support the delivery of psychologically-informed assessments, formulations and interventions to service users alongside psychologists and other colleagues under the close supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.This will include cognitive assessment, personality assessment and mental health difficulties.
There will be opportunities for group and individual work as well as data collection, audit and evaluation of exciting new developments in the delivery of psychologically informed interventions within the team.
A good understanding of psychological models and their practice application, as well as data analysis and report writing skills is desirable.

Job responsibilities
Main responsibilities to include:
Psychological assessment, supporting administration and implementation of team and individual formulations, intervention as appropriate under close supervision of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Co-facilitating psychologically informed interventions and groups including DBT, DDP, Sensory Processing
Contributing to the practice of psychologically informed interventions within the team
Opportunities for further development including further training are supported in preparing you for a future role in clinical psychology
Contributing to reflective practice topics and the implementation of the clinical model
Evaluating outcomes and writing reports of assessments

- A BPS accredited degree in Psychology
Experience

- Experience of quantitative research

- Experience of research in the NHS

- Skills using microcomputers for databases or date analysis, especially SPSS for Windows
