Job summary

Are you a qualified Assistant practitioner in Mammography or a qualified Associate Mammographer? We are in the unique position to offer fantastic opportunities for qualified as part of our growing team and expanding service. We are a large University Hospital located in Staffordshire where we actively encourage and support advanced training for Assistant Practitioners and accreditation with the Society of Radiographers.
We are looking for enthusiastic qualified Assistant Practitioners in Breast Care, to join our friendly, patient centred team providing Breast Screening and Symptomatic Breast services to the population of Central and North Staffordshire with a screening population of approximately 90,000 women.
You should possess good communication skills, demonstrate initiative and the ability to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
We currently provide services at the new breast unit at County Hospital Stafford, Royal Stoke Hospital, and mobile sites throughout North Staffordshire. It is expected that successful applicants will be able to travel to all of the sites.

Job responsibilities
The post holder is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team undertaking high quality mammography examinations under indirect supervision in both the screening and symptomatic breast services for Central and North Staffordshire.
To undertake screening and symptomatic duties as an Assistant Practitioner/associate mammographer at; County Hospital Stafford, Breast Care Unit Royal Stoke, and at various mobile locations throughout Central and North Staffordshire. These duties will be within the framework of the NHS Breast Screening Programme and the Breast Care units operating procedures.
To perform symptomatic and surveillance mammography within the service. To act as chaperone, assist with biopsy procedures using ANTT and to provide patient care and wound care.
