The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team within the Kent Combined Medical Practice. The Combined Practice is formed of 3 sites, Chatham Medical Centre, Shorncliffe Medical Centre and Maidstone Medical Centre and there will be an expectation to work across all sites as and when required.
This is a part time role, offering 15 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
The Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor working within the Primary Care Rehabilitation Facility (PCRF) is to provide a high standard of exercise-based rehabilitation including highly specialist work in the Musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area for the Population at Risk (PAR), meeting Standards for Better Health by using a multidisciplinary approach.
The post holder will provide a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high-quality professional service.
The post holder will provide full support to the line manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work, peer review and support to Junior/other Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors working within the Unit.

Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Have professional and legal accountability to British Association Sports Rehabilitators & Trainers (BASRaT), Ministry of Defence (MoD) local policies and tort law in all aspects of practice.
- Perform clinical assessments and to design and implement safe and progressive exercise treatment schedules for all patients after the MO/Physio has made a diagnosis.
- Keep a record of all specific treatments given and a record of individual patients progression/regression in respect of such treatments. The ERI is to report any finding to the MO/Physio regularly and should attend consultations when required.
- Use first aid, including the use of ice and taping/strapping techniques, for acute soft tissue injuries.

There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.

All employees joining Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date.
