Location: Erlegh House, University of Reading RG6 6BZ (remote only)

Ward:Psychology Trauma

Pay Rates: £20.30 per hour

Shift Patterns: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri 08:00-16:00, 09:00-17:00 or 12:00-20:00

Main duties of the job

Undertake comprehensive patient-centred interviews and assessments and deliver a range of low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)-based interventions.

Support service users in their recovery through face to face, telephone and video-based individual work, as well as group workshops and computerised CBT.

Deliver outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions to service users experiencing common mental health difficulties, while recognising own limitations, and seeking advice/supervision when appropriate.

Complete assessments of risk to self, risk to others and risk from others. Record and act on the information collected appropriately, seeking advice from supervisor and/or safeguarding lead as needed, to ensure risks are appropriately managed.

Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered and clinical sessions carried out per week, helping minimise waiting times and ensuring treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional Registration with either BPS or BABCP.
  • Relevant bachelors degree (e.g., psychology, mental health, sociology, education etc.) graded at 2:2 or above.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working as a Trainee/ qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.

Desirable

  • Significant experience of working with people experiencing mental health problems within community settings.
