We are looking for a highly motivated Cardiac Physiologist to join our busy department. Working with eight Cardiologists and five Respiratory Physicians the department provides a wide range of complex cardiac and respiratory investigations including Cardiac Catheterisation, PCI, Pacemaker and AICD implant and follow up, Cardiac and Metabolic stress testing, Transthoracic, Trans-oesophageal and Stress Echocardiography. We have implementated a large dedicated IT system which has pulled together all the clinical and administrative systems across the department.

We are currently supporting staff to undertake MSc level qualifications as well as providing mentorship and support to those applying for registration as a Clinical Scientist. We have a dedicated training budget which allows staff to be supported to attend national and international educational events.
Main duties of the job
You should preferably have experience of working as a qualified cardiac professional however we will also consider applications from those expected to graduate from a BSc (Cardiac) Healthcare Science degree within the next three months. You should hold either HCPC or AHCS registration. You should also hold SCST Diploma in ECG Interpretation although consideration will be given to those willing to attain within the first 12 months.
If further training is required then the majority will be delivered in-house by the established team of specialists, but some access to approved external training courses will be available. The post holder will be expected to work as an independent practitioner performing a variety of procedures on a wide range of patients.

Experience
Essential
- Completed a recognised course of training and achieved voluntary state registration as a Cardiac Physiologist or Healthcare Science Practitioner
- Proven experience of a range of non-invasive and invasive cardiac and/or respiratory physiology
- Is able to act as an independent specialist practitioner in these areas
Qualifications

- BSc ( Hons) Clinical Physiology (Cardiac) or BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac)
- ILS
Desirable
- Hold SCST Diploma in ECG Interpretation (or attain within 12 months) if Cardiology
