St Raphaels Hospice is seeking an inspirational Chief Executive Officer to lead our organisation through its next phase of strategic development.

We are an independent registered charity providing specialist palliative and end of life care across Merton and Sutton. We work closely with partners across South West London to ensure coordinated, high-quality care for patients and those important to them.

St Raphaels Hospice is a charity-run hospice providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care for people in the Merton and Sutton areas. We offer inpatient and home-based care, as well as wellbeing support and bereavement services for families. Our mission is to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, ensuring dignity and comfort.

Job responsibilities

St Raphael's Hospice is seeking an inspirational Chief Executive Officer to lead our organisation through its next phase of strategic development.

We are an independent registered charity providing specialist palliative and end of life care across Merton and Sutton. We work closely with partners across South West London to ensure coordinated, high-quality care for patients and those important to them.

The CEO will lead the Executive Team, shape and deliver our strategy, strengthen collaboration across the system, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the Hospice.

We are seeking a visible, values-led and collaborative leader with experience of senior leadership in healthcare, charity or a similarly complex organisation.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a highly respected hospice at a pivotal time in health and care transformation.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Significant senior leadership experience within healthcare, hospice care, the charity sector or a similarly complex organisation. Proven experience of leading
  • organisational strategy, transformation and change.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of charity governance, fundraising and retail operations.

Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience of leading organisational strategy, transformation and change. Experience of working effectively with Boards or Trustees and operating within strong governance frameworks. Experience of leading senior teams and developing organisational culture and performance. Understanding of organisational sustainability, financial stewardship and income generation. Experience of building strategic partnerships and influencing senior stakeholders. Understanding of the opportunities and
  • challenges facing healthcare, palliative care and the voluntary sector.

Desirable

  • Experience within palliative and end of life care. Experience of working within, or alongside, NHS and Integrated Care System structures.
