North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional and inspirational clinical leader to join our Executive Team as Chief Medical Officer (CMO).

This is a unique opportunity to lead clinical strategy and provide professional leadership for our medical workforce at a time of significant transformation. Serving a population of approximately 900,000 people across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and neighbouring areas, the Trust is investing in new models of care, the redevelopment of Hinchingbrooke Hospital and the opening of a new Community Diagnostic Centre.

Main duties of the job

As Chief Medical Officer, you will provide visible and credible clinical leadership, champion patient safety and quality, lead our clinical governance agenda and work with colleagues across the Integrated Care System to deliver innovative, sustainable and patient-centred services.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • Medical graduate with full and unrestricted GMC registration
  • Higher professional medical qualification

Desirable

  • Management or leadership qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification in medical education, clinical governance or management

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience as a Consultant within the NHS
  • Substantial experience in a senior medical leadership role (e.g. Medical Director, Deputy Medical Director, Divisional Director or equivalent)

Desirable

  • Experience of leading organisations through significant transformation and organisational change
