Are you ready to use your administrative and organisational skills in a way that makes a positive impact on peoples lives? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to become a member of our Corporate & Health Records team, within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, as a Clerical officer. Reporting to the Medical Records Supervisor, your role will be key in transforming the health records service from a predominantly paper-based service towards a comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) service. Applicants should have experience of working within an office environment. It is not essential to have experience within the healthcare sector. Candidates will also have experience of handling administrative processes, be IT literate and have a good standard of numeracy and written communication. In exchange you will work as part of a fast paced, multi-professional workforce providing comprehensive support towards digitising the Trusts patient records.
Main duties of the job
The Post holder will be responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective Health Records Service ensuring the availability of patient records are provided in a timely manner 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. Working in accordance with both national and departmental guidelines and policies. Your objective as a clerical officer is to sustain these standards in the duties you undertake. This will require commitment to developing exceptional working relationships and practices to enable you to play your part in ensuring the best standard of care offered to our patients. A professional, helpful manner is required at all times and the ability to meeting specific deadlines on a daily basis. What you will bring to the roleLiterate and numerate (GCSEs or equivalent)
Previous Clerical Experience
IT and computer literate - specifically MS Office package
Experience of dealing with patients/customers in a professional setting
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Continuous prolonged concentration is required either at a PC or desk station dependent on role within health records
Create and maintain environments and practices that support and promote the health and safety of individuals
Show commitment to working as a team by working with colleagues in the organisation and the wider healthcare community
Able to work without close supervision
Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment and lead team through change processes
