Job summary
Clinical Supervisor for RPE FFP3 mask fit testing, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the protection and safeguarding of staff from potential harm.They will support divisional areas in carrying out fit testing, as well as undertake fit testing themselves, ensuring masks are correctly fitted and provide an effective seal to protect against airborne transmission of the virus.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake a clinicalsupervisory roleofoverseeingthe band 3fit testerin thecentralteamwhilstassistingwith maskfittestingandit'sprocessesboth disposable and re-usable RPEwithin clinical divisions.
In particular, the post holder will be responsible for:
1. Delivery of a safe RPE FFP3 mask fit testing service, assisting to influence and facilitate change within the setting and and clinical divisions. 2. The supervision of clinical assessment prior to and during fit testing.3. Supporting ELHT staff to deliver Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGP) for patents safely whilst keeping themselves free from harm and offering specialist advice as needed4. The supervision of setting up equipment and preparation of staff for fit testing ensuring masks are donned correctly, making a difference to staff safety.5. The supervision of the Qualitative and Quantitative fit testing methods and various stations within testing environment's so delivering safely quality results6. The clinical supervision of safe fit testing and completion of documentation of staff being fit tested.7. Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures8. Supporting training of fit testers and fit testing
About us
This post is a part time vacancy with hours worked between Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm, although some flexibilityis required around these hours to cover training requirements.
You will be expected to work across all sites of ELHT as necessary.
Job responsibilities
To support the central mask fitting service and clinical divisions in the delivery of fit testing to all ELHT staff. The core purpose of the role is to coordinate and deliver fit testing activity, ensuring it is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with organisational and statutory requirements. The post holder will provide training and practical support to Divisional teams, helping to build capability and ensure staff are fit tested in a timely way.

Qualifications,
Essential
- Registered Health Care Professional e.g NMC for nurses, GPhC for pharmacists, HCPC for allied health care professionals.
- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
- Current RPE FFP3 mask fit test training / update or willingness to undertake
- Further training or experience in a clinical supervisory position
