Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for two Relief Domestic Cleaners to join our Community team on a part time, permanent basis. This position is well-suited to a team player with a customer focused approach and is looking to gain experience within a healthcare environment.

Main duties of the job

Job Role:

  • Provides a quality domestic service within the premises.
  • Ensures that the premises are clean and tidy with particular emphasis on patient, kitchen and toilet areas.
  • Works with the Facilities Supervisor to ensure that the agreed delivery of NHS cleaning standards and KPIs for the service are met.
  • Works as part of a team, undertaking domestic duties as directed by the Facilities Supervisor which include cleaning, moving furniture and waste removal.
  • Works flexibly to cover for colleagues' annual leave and sickness to ensure continuity of service.
  • Able to manoeuvre and operate cleaning equipment, exercising own personal duty of care when using equipment or chemicals at work

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Full UK Driving License and access to vehicle
  • Good General Education
  • General Knowledge of the role
  • Ability to follow schedules and procedures within work areas
  • Ability to prepare, use, clean and store equipment, tools and materials
  • Ability to accurately report and record work activities according to procedures

Qualifications

Essential

  • Good General Education
  • Full, clean driving licence

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 in cleaning/ cleaning processes (or evidence of working towards)

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

  • General Knowledge of the role

Desirable

  • Previous work in similar role
  • Awareness of cleaning process and procedures
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety, Infection Control and COSHH

Skills & Ability

Essential

  • Ability to act in a way that is consistent with policies and procedures
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to give constructive views and ideas on improving the service
  • Ability to prepare, use, clean and store equipment, tools and materials

  • Ability to travel to multiple sites on a daily basis and at short notice
