Job summary
We are seeking either an experienced Community Support Worker or a Qualified Social Worker to join Jewish Cares Social Work and Community Support team on a part-time basis, working 20 hours per week. Based from one of our sites in Friern Barnet, Golders Green or Ilford, you will support adults, older people, carers, and families across North East London, Central London, and Essex. Depending on your qualifications and experience, you will be appointed as either a Community Support Worker or a Qualified Social Worker. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide personalised assessments, advice, advocacy, and practical support that enables people to maintain their independence, improve their wellbeing, and remain connected to their communities. Main duties of the job
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Community Support Worker or Qualified Social Worker to join our Social Work and Community Support Service. You will manage a varied caseload, undertake holistic assessments, provide advice, advocacy, and practical support, and develop person-centred plans that help individuals and carers achieve positive outcomes. Working collaboratively with colleagues, health professionals, voluntary organisations, and community partners, you will support people through changing circumstances while promoting dignity, choice, safeguarding, and independence. Qualified Social Workers will also undertake more complex assessments, lead on safeguarding and care planning, and apply professional social work judgement in line with relevant legislation. This part-time role offers 20 hours per week and the opportunity to work within an experienced multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving lives across the Jewish community.

The salary for 20 hours per week is between £18,396 - £23,185 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.

About the RoleWhether appointed as a Community Support Worker or Qualified Social Worker, you will:
- Manage a varied caseload of adults and carers.

- Qualified Social Workers will also undertake more complex assessments, apply professional social work judgement and lead on safeguarding, risk management and care planning where appropriate.
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, motivated and committed to delivering outstanding person-centred support.
You'll have:
- Experience working with adults, older people and carers.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred practice.
- Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently whilst contributing to a supportive multidisciplinary team.
- Strong IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
- A commitment to Jewish Care's values of Excellence, Innovation, Compassion, Inclusiveness and Integrity.
For Qualified Social Worker applicants, you'll also need:
- A recognised Social Work qualification.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Experience undertaking assessments, care planning and professional social work interventions.
- Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding legislation.
