Job summary
Applications are invited for a part time 10 PA Consultant post in Paediatric, Adolescent and Neonatal Surgery at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Applicants must have trained in general paediatric surgery and should be skilled in laparoscopic techniques.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be expected to support the existing workload within the department and the expanding outreach service. They will participate in teaching and clinical research.
About us
St George's Hospital provides the inpatient service for all Specialist Paediatric Surgery, including Neonatal surgery in South West London. There is a well-developed minimally invasive surgery service.
There is an extensive outreach service to all District General Hospitals within South West London, including the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford, Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation NHS Trust, Croydon University Teaching Hospital, Queen Marys Hospital, Roehampton, Kingston Hospital Foundation Trust, Epsom and St Helier Hospitals and The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton.

Qualifications and Training
Full UK Registration with General Medical Council and licensed to practice or eligible if currently working overseas
On Paediatric Surgery Specialist Register or eligible for this within 6 months of starting the job.
Possession of APLS/PALS
Experience
Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients including major trauma and general paediatric surgery emergency.
Knowledge
Understanding of the principles of management
Broad knowledge of speciality
Willingness to contribute to research activity within the department
Knowledge and understanding of child safeguarding
