Job summary
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a proactive and collaborative finance professional who can operate effectively in a complex, multi-organisation environment, as part of a high-profile, transformative programme, Healthset.
Healthset is a joint 10-year programme across four trusts in Dorset and Somerset to deliver a shared electronic health record (EHR) for acute, community and mental health services, working in partnership with Epic. This once-in-a-generation transformation will change how information is recorded, shared and accessed, enabling colleagues to spend less time working around systems and more time caring.
The successful candidate will be the interface between Finance and Healthset. In this role, you will provide a comprehensive, high-quality finance business partnering service that supports the successful delivery of Healthset across Dorset and Somerset, helping to ensure this ambitious programme delivers lasting benefits for patients, colleagues and wider community.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver a high-quality finance business partnering service that supports the successful delivery of the Healthset programme
- Help shape financial delivery from implementation through to business-as-usual following go-live in April 2028
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across Somerset FT and Dorset trusts to maintain consistent financial oversight
- Analyse, interpret and present complex financial information clearly and effectively for a wide range of stakeholders
- Support financial planning, reporting and performance management across a major transformational programme
- Contribute to robust financial governance, control and assurance processes that underpin programme success
- Support financial modelling to underpin benefit realisation and business case outcomes

- Demonstrates several years experience in a similar financial environment
- Evidence of ongoing professional development

- Educated to degree level or equivalent
Experience

- Previous experience working in a Management Accounting or similar environment
- Experience of staff supervision and or development
- Significant experience using computer based financial information systems
- Proven extensive financial and business track record

- Experience of working within an NHS finance function
- Experience of providing financial support to large capital and non capital projects
